"Lava Dip"
Date Created: Wednesday, April 18, 2001 While playing against Bowser 2, fall into the lava, then bounce back up onto the hopefully-still-tilted platform and then beat Bowser.

"Bowser Balancing Act"
Date Created: Wednesday, April 18, 2001 Make Bowser balance on the edge of the platform (unfortunately, he won't fall in). How do you do it you ask? Go near the edge when he runs at you, then quickly jump out of his way. He will get up on his toes and balance on the edge for a second or two.

"Lava-Proof"
Date Created: Friday, June 22, 2001 Can you figure out a way to make Mario fully land on lava, in an area other than the sinking platforms, and then get back on solid ground, without getting burned? Note: Making Mario's foot touch a little lava on a sinking platform doesn't count. He must be fully surrounded by lava! Hint: One great place to do this trick is right at the beginning of Bowser 2. Ride the first moving platform until it gets near the area where it stops (after the tilting platforms). Try to land on the lava between the moving platform and the next part of the course. Bigger Hint: This requires an unusual move that I think most people don't use very often (at least nobody I know uses this move very often). Biggest Hint: Look here for a move with the initials bb.

"Dive Into Funnel"
Date Created: Wednesday, April 18, 2001 Just before getting to the actual Bowser battle, there is a light blue funnel. Dive into that funnel.

"Crumble Jump"
Date Created: Wednesday, April 18, 2001 Walk halfway across the crumbling bridge (just before the funnel going to Bowser), then jump back the way you came. You can try this on other crumbling bridges too (like in courses 2 and 5).

"Escape the 1-UP - Part 1" A visitor also submitted a similar trick after I made this. Date Created: Wednesday, April 18, 2001 Activate the 1-UP that appears in the cage, but then make it to lava and die before it gets to you! Hint: You will need to wall kick.

(But it looks hard! - Impress your friends!) |
"Escape the 1-UP - Part 2" Date Created: Wednesday, April 18, 2001 Activate the 1-UP that appears in the cage, but then make it all the way to the second spinning heart (the one near the end of the level) before the 1-UP gets to you! I think it should be possible (theoretically) to make it all the way to the funnel, but you have to be very, very, very fast! I have only made it to the heart because I am so bad at this game.

"Sideways Floater"
Travis Date Submitted: Friday, June 22, 2001
My Reply: Another cool one! (I think it works best to make Mario go to the right from our perspective [which is Mario's left]. -- That is, as the elevator comes down, push Mario into the corner where the blue wall is.) This one is a little trickier than the last one.

"Ultra Wall-Kick Master"
(or should I say, HOT!!) To really test your wall kicking ability, try this: Go to the very beginning of the second Bowser level (the one with the lava). Now you should see 2 narrow pillars. Wall kick back and forth between those pillars, all the way to the top!!! I know, I know -- you see the screenshots and you still don't believe it! :-)

"Back to the Cage"
HOT!! About one-third of the way through the second Bowser course, you will enter a "cage" where you are surrounded by a blue mesh. Go a little further, and you will enter an "elevator shaft" surrounded by a yellow mesh. Ride the elevator up to the next area. Now, jump back down to the blue mesh caged area, without using the elevator shaft!! (Jump over the edge of the "lava box".) Originally, my goal was to stand on the blue mesh. However, Mario goes right through the mesh when coming from the other side (it is like a trap-door, you can go through only one way). At least, that's what happened to me, but I went through the side of the cage. Maybe if you're quicker, you can actually land on the top! This trick, however, is a pretty good compromise. -= Hints: =- To help, you should stand on the edge of the "lava box" before you attempt to jump down to the area below. To fairly easily get to that edge, this is what I do: Stand on the edge of the top of the elevator shaft, then face away from the lava (face toward the elevator shaft). Then, do a back-flip (hold 'Z' and press 'A'), and guide Mario toward that ledge. If you hit the lava in the lava box, don't panic, just move Mario closer to the edge, and hopefully you'll land safely the second time. If you slip off the edge, try to make it to the heart, so you can refill your power.

"Slam Dunk"
I say: Maybe I don't understand this trick. I found it fairly easy to triple-jump into the "entrance" that leads to Bowser. What bar?? Maybe there is something else I'm supposed to triple-jump into. |

Visitor says, "This is pretty easy (for me). Go to the second Bowser level and go to the part when you fight him. When he jumps and tilts the platform jump right before it comes back to the normal position. If you do it right, Mario jumps super-super high." (I'm pretty sure I've done this before.) |
